As a writer who is considering self-publishing, you have probably heard or read that you need to promote your book on the book promotion websites. Unfortunately, a lot of the lists circulating across the Internet are for PAID book promotion, even if they advertise FREE in their meta descriptions and tags. In the worst case scenarios, they’ll let you promote your FREE Amazon book for FREE…. Um, free books don’t really help you. They make up about 2 percent of book sales and the momentum doesn't last...

Going through all those paid book promotion lists is a waste of time. I even got caught up in one so far that I filled out all the information, created the account and then got to a paid wall. Now, imagine how irritated I was. So, let me cut down the time and frustration you spend on this task by giving you the actual sites that will promote your book for free.

FREE BOOK PROMOTION WEBSITES

As in, it is free for you to submit your self published book to them, and you do not need a specific Amazon star rating or a certain number of reviews.

  1. Awesomegang – Pretty nice website. They offer promotion on their website, and you can fill out an author interview. I recommend you do both. They do not send you emails alerting you to the fact that you are now on your website.
  2. Book of the Day – This will put you up on their website as the book of the day. It may be a month or more out from your publication date. I submitted my book on the 21st of March and the first available date was April 25. This is okay. You need far out promotions as well as right now promotions.
  3. Book Pinning.com – This just pins your book to their page, kind’ve like Pininterest. You might as well do it.
  4. Discount Book Man - They offer promotion on their website, and you can fill out an author interview. I recommend you do both. They do not send you emails alerting you to the fact that you are now on your website. There is also a $15 paid option, but you are not forced to take it.
  5. Goodreads – If you can get your newly published book on their list, this is a great place to start. You get a profile and the ability to review your own book. I had problems with it though. I can’t get the newest version of my book on there.
  6. My Adult Place - They offer promotion on their website, and you can fill out an author interview. I recommend you do both. They do not send you emails alerting you to the fact that you are now on your website. There is also a $25 paid option, but you are not forced to take it. They only promote romance and erotica.
  7. My Book Place – They DO send you emails when your promo and interview are live. They offer promotion on their website, and you can fill out an author interview. I recommend you do both. They do not send you emails alerting you to the fact that you are now on your website. There is also a $25 paid option, but you are not forced to take it.
  8. Pretty Hot - They offer promotion on their website, and you can fill out an author interview. I recommend you do both. They do not send you emails alerting you to the fact that you are now on your website. There is also a $25 paid option, but you are not forced to take it.
  9. Read, Write Club - They offer promotion on their website, and you can fill out an author interview. I recommend you do both. They do not send you emails alerting you to the fact that you are now on your website. There is also a $25 paid option, but you are not forced to take it.
That’s it. Those are all of the places that I could find that offer FREE book promotion. If you know of another site that offers free book promotion for books that are NOT being given away for free, feel free to let me know at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. I won’t promote free book give away advertising. I believe your work is worth something. Don’t give your hard work away.
